Welcome to Black History Season at Race for Health
Race for Health's participation in Black History Season aims to emphasise the links between the past, present and future of African and African Caribbean experiences and reinforce the message that:
"We are where we are because of where we were"
Race for Health members positively value Black history Season as a way for NHS organisations to:
- Demonstrate how they value the contributions and diversity of their Black Communities
- Engage more positively with and empower Black Communities
- Meet their legal duty to promote Race Equality
Race for Health will participate in Black history Season during 2010 by:
- Identifying and sharing what Race for Health trusts and others are doing to mark the Seasons
- Developing and signposting educational resources
- Developing a web portal and other means to publicise information about Black history, related to medicine, health, wellbeing and contributions to science and technology
