Interviewing Clients across Cultures

Royal College of Nursing – Race Equality: Getting it Right

On Monday 1 March 2010, the Royal College of Nursing are offering a historic opportunity for you to give constructive feedback on the RCN’s performance in championing race equality within the workplace and directly influence the campaigning agenda. The conference is free of charge however the attached booking form must be completed and returned prior to attendance.

Understanding Islam, the Basics

This course tries to give a basic introduction to Islam within the confines of six hours. Sessions normally cover: Setting the Framework to Understand Islam, The Basic System of Belief and Practice, Building a Just Society, and “Themes of Your Choice”. The event is due to be held at St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, 78 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AG, United Kingdom on Saturday April 24 2010 between 11am and 5pm.

Afro Modern – Journeys Through the Black Atlantic

From 29 January – 25 April 2010, Liverpool Tate Modern Gallery are exploring the impact of different black cultures from around the Atlantic on art from the early twentieth-century to today with their exhibition “Afro Modern – Journeys Through the Black Atlantic. The exhibition takes its inspiration from Paul Gilroy's influential book The Black Atlantic: Modernity and Double Consciousness 1993. It features over 140 works by more than 60 artists.

16th Annual Summer Program in Social and Cultural Psychiatry – McGill University, Canada

Between May 3 – June 4 2010, the McGill University Canada are hosting the 16th Annual Summer Program in Social and Cultural Psychiatry. Courses available include:
