Race for Health December Mail-out

Update #18 released: Wednesday 2, December 2009

Dear Programme Leads and Thinking Partners,

Leading Action on Race Equality and Health Pledges

I am delighted to announce that as a result of the Leading Action on Race Equality and Health Summit, pledges are now flooding in and can be viewed at www.raceforhealth.org/resources/pledges. If you and/or your organisation would like to submit a pledge expressing its commitment to effective action on race equality, please consider one action which you could commit to taking in the next six months and send it to me at jessica.bradbury@liverpoolpct.nhs.uk.

Website

Over the next few months we are hoping to make some changes to the website to make it a more valuable resource for your work in Race Equality. Website usage surveys have been sent out to all members of the Programme requesting their views and ideas. Please find a copy attached if you have yet to receive your survey.

New resources including the August 2009 report from the Royal College of Psychiatrists on the subject of Psychiatric Services for Black and Minority Ethnic Older People are also being added to the website for your use.

Liverpool PCT

It is my very proud duty to inform you that our host trust Liverpool PCT received the Primary Care Organisation of the Year award at the HSJ ceremony this week. The other five shortlisted trusts were highly commended by HSJ judges.
