Centre for Evidence in Ethnicity, Health and Diversity

The UK Centre for Evidence in Ethnicity, Health and Diversity (CEEHD) was established in 2001 as part of the ESRC research network for evidence-based policy and practice. CEEHD supports interdisciplinary, collaborative research in the field of ethnicity and health, working with Trusts, community groups and other academic centres.

Aim

To ensure that research evidence is able to contribute more fully to the development of effective and efficient policies and practices in the important area of ethnicity and health.

Objectives

To provide a UK facility which undertakes reviews of existing evidence to inform policy and practice at national, regional and local levels

To develop knowledge access pathways for diverse communities in the public, private and voluntary sectors so that the best use is made of the existing evidence

To identify key gaps in research knowledge and encourage researchers to contribute more fully to addressing these

To develop a facility which can provide a national resource on available research (including grey literature) in the area of ethnicity and health
