Commission for Racial Equality: Public Procurement and Race Equality
The CRE has published a guide for public bodies, including NHS organisations, entitled Public Procurement and Race Equality. The guide gives practical advice on how to promote race equality when public bodies buy goods, works and services. It recognises the potential role of public procurement in improving equality of employment opportunities. It was written within underlying key principles and fits within a wider legal framework than the Race Relations Act alone.
