DVD Resource for People with Learning Disabilities

Diabetes UK has produced a new DVD specifically tailored for people with learning disabilities and diabetes.

Diabetes UK worked in partnership with Speak Up – a self-help advocacy charity for people with learning disabilities to ensure all messages included in the DVD are what people from these communities need and in a format and tone that is understood.

This year long project held a number of focus groups with people with learning disabilities and diabetes to help shape the outcome of the DVD. Information for people with learning disabilities has been a long time gap at Diabetes UK so this resource will help to raise awareness of diabetes and help with the management of diabetes to a community that are at risk of developing the condition and face inequalities to accessing care.
