Race and equality JSNAs: 'Towards Culturally-Responsive JSNAs
In the Spring we were commissioned by the Department of Health to undertake a review of a sample of Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNA) from around the country. Our task was to assess how well organisations were addressing race equality within the JSNA process. Our delivery partner for this piece of work was Shared Intelligence. The review was undertaken over the summer and the resulting report, ‘Culturally responsive JSNAs:a review of race equality and Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) practice’ has been submitted to the DH, where it has been very well received. Work is continuing with the Department of Health to ensure that the methodology for assessing performance that was devised as part of the process is embedded in the forthcoming guidance.
